The systems will be installed at Multan, Lahore and Islamabad airports
(Web Desk) – Government of Japan has agreed to issue a grant of $4.46 million to install Facial Recognition System at three key airports in Pakistan to better security.
The grant that reportedly has been approved by Japan International Cooperation Agency aims at improving security at Multan International Airport in Multan, Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore and Benazir International Airport in Islamabad.
Last year the Japanese government provided a grant of 200 Yen for security improvements that included installation of X-ray scanning devices at Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore airports.
The $4.46 million grant has been provided to Pakistan under ‘Economic and Social Development Program’ of Japan for developing countries.
